    This castle has been built around the 11th Century as a fortress to safeguard and protect an hydraulic construction which was used also as a driveway to cross the wetland of The Val di Chiana.

    Destroyed during the wars that happened in the area, the bridge was originally considered by the emperor Nerone to steady the influx of the river Tiber .
    The structure of this castle has been changed throughout the Centuries. The two towers have disappeared and the current map is not the same as it was originally.

    The person who restored the Castle first was the architect San Gallo.
    After a period of disfavour, the Castle passed into the hands of a noble family from Buonconvento and in 1925 was bought by the current owner who modernized it.

    The Castle lies next to a small hamlet developed around 1500 along the road that goes up to the fortress.
    The plot is rectangular and disposes on four levels.
    The entrance is from the cloister .
    On the ground floor there are some cellars, some old stables, kitchen with dining room and pantry, living room, sitting room, studio, bathroom and laundry room.

    A stone staircase leads up to the first floor, where there are: large ball-room with coffered ceilings and frescoed walls, art gallery, private chapel, bedrooms with ante chamber, bathrooms and studios.

    The second floor can be used as a living area.
    A staircase finally leads to the panoramic terrace with a breathtaking 360° open view.

    From the cloister two staircases lead to the lower ground floor, where there are some garages used to store vintage cars, but also nice to have feasts or even create a rustic restaurant.

    The building adjoins a small garden on the front side and a piece of land on the western part.
